Tourist guide in Sri-Lanka

In Sri Lanka, the consumption of alcoholic beverages in public places is prohibited on full moon days (Poya Day). Consequently, alcohol is not served in restaurants and hotels across the island, including those operating on an all-inclusive basis. Retail sale of alcohol is also suspended on these days.

Indian travelers must obtain a permit prior to bringing any drone into Sri Lanka. Applications should be submitted through the Civil Aviation Authority website. The approval process can take up to 10 days. Drones must be transported in checked baggage.

In the regions of Dickwella, Tangalla, Hambantota, and along the Northeast Coast, guide services are provided remotely via messaging apps or phone calls. Personal in-hotel briefings by guides are not available.

Due to limited transport access to some Sri Lankan hotels, pick-up and drop-off services are only available from main roads.

Maximum waiting time for group transfers from airport to hotel:

• At Mattala Rajapaksa Airport: up to 1 hour 45 minutes from aircraft landing time.
• At Bandaranaike Airport: up to 2 hours from aircraft landing time.
• If passengers do not exit the airport within this time frame, the transfer vehicle will depart.

Maximum waiting time for individual transfers:

Up to 2 hours 30 minutes from flight landing. Passengers experiencing delays with airport procedures should contact the hotline number provided on their voucher immediately.

Important:

For transfers booked separately under different tour arrangements (e.g., one with stopover and one direct), separate transfers will be provided according to the booked tour, as these are operated by different partners.

When booking tours with scheduled flights, please note the flight arrival time in Colombo.

Hotel check-in is available only after 2:00 PM on the day following arrival.

Early check-in requests may incur an additional fee.

• For 2 + 1 bookings — no extra bed is provided.
• For 2 + 1 EX. BED bookings — one extra bed (or rollaway, depending on hotel) is provided.
• For 2 + 2 EX. BED bookings — one extra bed (or rollaway, depending on hotel) is provided.
• For TRPL bookings — one extra bed (or rollaway, depending on hotel) is provided.
