In Qatar, payments can be made using several types of currency:
- Local currency QAR (Qatari Riyal), exchange rate approximately 3.64 = 1 USD
- US dollars, approximately 1 USD = 3.64 QAR, but only banknotes issued after 2009 are accepted
It is not recommended to carry euros as there is no fixed exchange rate.
Exchanging euros to QAR is possible only at specialized exchange offices.
Attempting to bring alcohol into Qatar will result in confiscation by customs authorities, with the alcohol returned upon departure from the country.
